Classes canceled January 9 for weather

All Northwest ISD schools and facilities will be closed Thursday, January 9, and classes are canceled as a result of incoming inclement weather and expected poor road conditions. Additionally, all activities on Thursday are canceled or will be rescheduled.

For any event that is canceled or delayed, event supervisors or schools will inform families of new plans once they are finalized. Northwest ISD will continue to monitor the weather and directly alert families if further schedule changes are necessary. Because inclement weather remains projected for Friday, January 10, the district will provide an update regarding classes by Thursday evening.

The district does not anticipate having to add additional days to the school year as enough instructional minutes are built into our academic calendar to account for up to four bad-weather days.
